“Bismillah (In the name of God)”
A few years ago, I was watching a spiritual program. The Buddhist monk who was interviewing the attendants, asked a lady who was there what is your purpose in life? She started crying and replied “I don’t know. That’s why I am here.” Through some prompting and additional questions asked, she explained that she lives a very comfortable life. She is a staying at home mom who lives in a beautiful house. She goes on vacation at least twice a year. She used to think that her life was perfect but, lately, she has been feeling like something is missing. She doesn’t know what her purpose in life is.
Many of us spend our lives asking, “What is my purpose?”
The Qur’an answers this clearly:
“O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous.” (2:21)
We were not created by accident. We were created with intention—to know Allah (God), worship Him, and grow closer to Him.
But worship is more than prayer and fasting. It is how we speak, how we forgive, how we trust, how we deal with one another and how we fully acknowledge Allah (God) in our daily life.
When we reconnect with our purpose, life becomes lighter. The heart finds peace and the soul find direction in the remembrance of his Lord.
Ramadan reminds us:
We are not lost.
We are guided.
We are called back to Allah.

- How do I define worship in my daily life?
- Where can I bring Allah back into my routine?
- What distractions pull me away from Him?
