“Bismillah (In the name of God)”
Have you ever hurt some then apologize to that person? Instead of a reply, you get a blank stare or worse the person walks away from you. Then you start thinking and stressing about how to mend the problem that your action has created. However, these moments of guilt feel heavier than faith, when our sins or acts of disobedience make us wonder if Allah (God) still wants us.
Here’s the great News, Allah (God) is Merciful, Allah (God) say:
“O My servants who have wronged themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins.” (39:53)
This verse is for the servants who are struggling in their religious practice, and the ones who feel far from Him and think that there is no return for them.
Allah (God) does not push you away for your sins. He invites you back through repentance.
Your story is not over.
Your heart is not ruined.
Your Lord is still calling you.
It might take some time for your heart to feel at ease after your repentance. Allah (God) also say that the successful people are the ones who are patient. It means don’t lose hope because you are not feeling the change in your heart yet. Keep on praying and do not despair.
Ramadan is mercy in motion. It is an invitation to return to your Lord with hope.
Ask yourself
- What guilt do I need to release to Allah?
- Do I believe Allah’s mercy is greater than my mistakes?
- What would hope look like in my life today?
Prayer
O Allah, fill my heart with hope and wash my sins with Your mercy. Ameen
