“Bismillah (In the name of God)”
Life is full of surprises. You never know what will happen in a second, minute, hour, day and so on. Although we plan, Allah (God) remind us that He is the planner and owner of our lives. In this world our Life is full of tests, some are gentle and some are harsh. Allah (God) tell us:
Why are trials important?
Trials are important because they allow us to get closer to God. Question how things work. They help us develop ourselves and skills. Trials are not punishments; they are opportunities to grow, purify the heart, and draw closer to Allah (God).
How can we successfully pass these tests?
Some situations are so difficult that in our search for answers or help that Allah (God) is rarely the first thought that come to mind or say “This is a test from Allah (God). Even worse, someone might say it to you and you become angry.
What should we do when we are being tested?
- We need to be patient as we are going through this trial which means no cursing, don’t take out your frustration on the people around you and keep working on solutions with a positive mind set.
- Say “Indeed we belong to Allah (God) and indeed to Him we will return”
- Remember Allah is Fair, Merciful, He know that you can handle this problem.
- Always ask Him for help and guidance because, He knows what is best for you.
Ramadan teaches us patience, reflection, and reliance on Him. It is also a time to return and rely on Him. Come back to Allah (God) wholeheartedly and give yourself and chance to start anew with His forgiveness.
Ask yourself
- What trial am I facing right now?
- How can I respond with patience?
- What lesson might Allah want me to learn?
Prayer
O Allah, make my trials a source of mercy and growth. Ameen
