“Bismillah (In the name of God)

How often do you take the time to think about your words and actions and what effect do they have on your life.  Sometimes, we make a big deal out of a minor incident. Your hurtful words and actions may cause someone pain that you are unaware of and put you in a bad place.  Our actions do matter and Allah (God) tell us:

“So, whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.” (99:7–8)

What type of deeds would you like to see on the day that every action is extremely important?

Once you understand the meaning decide of the above verses and answer the question, it might become easier to control yourself and how you deal with people. Being able to keep the day of judgement in mind can happen only if you ask Allah’s (God’s) assistance and decide to pursue a(n) Allah (God) conscious life.

How will your deed be presented to you?

Here’s what Allah (God) tell us about how our deeds or actions will be presented to us on the day of judgement.

“For every person We have attached his fate to his neck. And on the Day of Resurrection, We will bring out for him a book which he will find spread open. Read your book; today there will be none but yourself to call you to account.” (17:13-14)

Whether we like it or not, we are all writers. Although we might be obsessed with other people’s lives or businesses.  The most important person in your life is you.  Allah (God) has made you the captain of your life. That’s why it is very important to learn how to mind your own business and stop talking about things that don’t concern you.

What do you need to remember?

Every deed, no matter how small, is recorded. Every choice matters. This Ramadan, consider your actions: are they aligning with your purpose? Are they drawing you closer to Allah? Even small steps of kindness, patience, and worship are meaningful in the sight of Allah.

Ramadan is the period that Allah (God) have chosen to train us towards this goal.  So, make in effort to apply during Ramadan and continue until your last breath.

Ask yourself

  1. What small acts of goodness can I do today?
  2. Where might I need to correct my actions?
  3. How can I make every day purposeful?

Prayer

O Allah, help me live with intention and make my deeds pleasing to You. Āmīn.
